WINEMAKERS CHOICE PRIVACY POLICY
Winemakers Choice understands that we are
all concerned about privacy and the protection of your personal details. We are
bound by the the Privacy Act 1988 and its revision The Privacy Amendment
(Privacy Sector) Act 2000. To assist in complying with the principles of this
act Winemakers Choice is required to inform you to inform you of your rights in
relation to the personal information held about you and its use.
Winemakers Choice is a member of the Australian Direct Marketing Association
(ADMA) and abides by the ADMA Code of Practice.
Winemakers
Choice collects only the information that is necessary for the express purpose
of its functions & activities.
What personal information does Winemakers Choice
collect?
Winemakers Choice collects such personal information (but not limited too)
name, address, phone number and credit card information (when required for order
processing and payment). We may also collect information from you pertaining to
your tastes, habits and general demographics. Winemakers Choice will, if it is
reasonable to so, collect personal information about an individual only from
that individual.
An individual may join as a customer and be included on our
mailing list just for the purpose of receiving notification of special
offers. When a customer purchases a gift or a gift voucher for another
individual, this information is also retained.
If the customers personal information is currently on the
Winemakers Choice database, Winemakers Choice will maintain these
contact details on computer so that we can continue to provide the
customers with wine related information & also to inform them of
special offers.
Should the customers’ personal contact details be inaccurate, need
updating, or they would like to be removed from the database, the
customer is required to contact Winemakers Choice so that appropriate
action can be taken.
How does Winemakers Choice collect your personal
information? Why do you need it?
Winemakers Choice collects your personal information via several channels,
principally via the member signup form (as part of the purchasing process) but
also including through email list signups, competition entries, mail or
telephone requests (amongst others). We require your personal information to
provide you information, products or services. Unfortunately if you refuse to
provide personal information we cannot supply you with any products or
services.
How does Winemakers Choice use this information?
Winemakers Choice may use your personal information for a range of purposes
including:
- To update you with information regarding your purchase and/or the goods and
services to that Winemakers Choice and our selected partners, provide
- Payment processing
- Age identification (To establish
that you are over 18 years old)
- To contact you for Winemakers Chocie direct
marketing and promotional purposes including providing you with information
about new products or services and general wine club related information
Disclosure
From time to time Winemakers Choice shares
customer information, but never credit card information, with
trustworthy third parties that wish to market quality products or
services to you. You can tell us not to share this information at any
